Is Japan hoping to cash in on the Gambling Fever

Japan might be in need of the gambling fever pretty soon. Their economy is in decline right now, it has been for some time. But many are secretly hoping that the betting world will help to save them from their financial predicament.

Right now, the notion of gambling is forbidden. It is illegal to gamble or bet in Japan, though many do play a somewhat odd version of pinball. How do they get away with playing a game that is similar in context to pinball? Many work in the “gray” area. That means that cash prizes are exchanged, and they are exchanged “under the table”. Often times players will exchange their prizes for hard cash.

Right now-however, there is a big push for the legalization of betting for Japan. Tokyo is right now holding the conferences on their grounds. Many insiders are encouraging the growth and development of gambling in Japan. Many predict that it could mean big money for them, when looking at the bigger picture.

Osaka, Japan’s second-largest city, is also being “eyed” for the big change-up. But in most cases, if this does get pushed through, they will be called Integrated Resorts. These Integrated Resorts, or IR-for short, would also included hotels and other entertainment ventures. According to many insiders, including other resort features, along with the gambling, might be the safer way to go.

THE BIGGEST UNDERTAKING THAT COULD BE WORTH BILLIONS

This venture would be an expensive one, but would bring back billions in revenue. According to many insiders, the impact Japan would have on the gambling world is unlimited. Japan brings in a lot of overseas business. When you combine that with the gambling, there is no telling what can happen.

HOW DOES THE OLYMPICS FACTOR IN

This is being pushed right now, due to the Tokyo Olympics, which would happen in the year 2020. That is only a few short years away. That is going to be a major draw. Japan is hoping to make “big bank” on the concept of combining gambling, hotels and entertainment, and the Olympics.

When you combine all three of these together, Japan would be unstoppable. This is what many are counting on.

MOST OF THE GAMBLERS WOULD BE LOCALS

Most of the visitors to these casinos would be from their own turf. These people have a relatively large disposable income. These are the people being pegged as the catalyst to get the ball rolling. Nearly 80% of the crowds would be from this income-rich market.

There is a lot of untapped potential here. Could Japan become the next Singapore? There is the potential, but it’s highly unlikely. Most Japanese mainlanders don’t want to be too dependent on China and what they offer. Reason being, the political climate.

It’s best if Japan goes about this on their own, according to one source. Gambling could be a major profit. Only time will tell if it takes off or not.
